Hi reader,
Meal planning is one of THE MOST REQUESTED TOPICS I get when someone first signs up for my newsletter.
Either they have no idea how to meal plan whatsoever…
Or they think that meal planning feels like a prison. That if you don't stick to exactly what you wrote down, you're doing it wrong and therefore you're a failure.
Let me tell you this - this is completely wrong!
Your meal plan is just that - a PLAN. Plans are guides, maps to show us the path to where we want to go. But sometimes there's road closure and the route you have to make changes. The new road isn't on the map, but it still gets us to the right destination.
Does that make the map bad? No.
Does this make the new route bad? No.
It's just different.
Meal planning is the same way. Sometimes you have to be flexible in order to meet the end goal.
But this is where a meal plan is different from a map.
We buy food for our meal plan, so if we end up making something else, we still need to do something with the food we bought so we're not wasting our hard-earned dollars.- Raise your hand if you have food in your fridge you intended to eat for Christmas… ✋
- Raise your hand if you have food in the kitchen you're making for New Year's… ✋
- Raise your hand if you have food in the kitchen you have no idea what to do with… ✋
Take 2 minutes and go through your fridge and write down anything that's going to go bad in the next 2-3 days. Pretend you just won a trip to Hawaii and have to come up with a way to use it before it goes bad. What do you do?
