Despite the dive bar vibe, the service was great. Everyone was so friendly and genuine. We tried a variety of menu items and enjoyed everything. Scotch Egg was tasty. It's a hard boiled egg wrapped in ground sausage and breadcrumbs, then deep fried. Comes with a side of spicy mustard. We also shared an order of English Nachos made with tater tots. Topped with beer cheese which had a grainy texture, bacon bits, sour cream and scallions. The tots sort of fell apart under the beer cheese unfortunately and didn't hold together very well. For dinner I had the Fish, Shrimp & Chips which were excellent. The beer batter fry on the fish was exquisite. Although they didn't use the traditional chunky chips, the standard fries were good, crispy and hot. Definitly among the best versions of this classic British dish I've had in San Diego. | | | |
