Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! On this day in 1963, 10 inches of snow fell in Memphis, making it the city’s largest white Christmas in history, largely shutting down travel in the area.

Nearly $2 Million Raised for Children’s Hospital

The annual Fantasy of Trees event transformed the Knoxville convention center into a festive forest of intricately decorated trees, drawing thousands of visitors this year.

According to a release, the 40th annual event raised approximately $1.9 million for the East Tennessee Children's Hospital, surpassing last year’s total.

Around 61,000 attendees came to admire the dazzling Christmas trees and enjoy the holiday-themed activities planned by organizers. See the event photos here.

In addition to the main event, the Gala Among the Trees offered guests live music, food, drinks, and a silent auction while giving attendees the first opportunity to purchase some of the decorated trees.

Tennessee ranked among the top five destination states for people relocating in 2024, alongside the Carolinas, Georgia, and Idaho, according to a new study.

Nashville also emerged as a top city in the Moving Migration Report, with increased demand stabilizing the local housing market despite high interest rates.

According to a recent report, home prices in Greater Nashville have risen by 5.7%. The most competitive price range in the area is currently between $350,000 and $450,000.

The report also notes that Tennessee experienced 63% inbound migration in 2024, reflecting a broader trend of people relocating to low-tax Southern states.
