Control of the U.S. House of Representatives has not yet been determined, as several critical races remain too close to call. As of last night, Republicans held 216 House seats to Democrats' 208, with 11 undecided. The GOP leads in 8 of those, while Democrats lead in 3. Most of those still uncertain are in California, including districts around the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Democrats are hoping for a razor-thin majority, but Republican officials are confident that the GOP will retain its majority. A final count will almost certainly have to wait until next week, at the earliest, when Congress is back in session and prepares to elect its new leaders. | Biden and Trump to Meet President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump will meet Wednesday in the Oval Office, the White House announced on Saturday. In a speech on Thursday, Biden said he assured Trump "that I would direct my entire administration to work with his team to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition." The traditional post-election meeting of the incoming and outgoing presidents will take place at 11:00 ET. Trump will become the second president to serve two non-consecutive terms when he becomes the nation's 47th president. The other was Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th. | Home Prices, State by State A new analysis shows median home prices in the U.S. ranging from $167,110 in West Virginia to $851,930 in Hawaii. The median price in August for a single-family house was $385,000. A University of Hawaii report shines some light on The Aloha State's sky-high expenses; regulatory costs, including lengthy permitting processes and strict zoning laws, account for more than half the price of a new condominium. California came in second, with a median home price of $776,000 and some of the least affordable metropolitan areas, including Los Angeles and San Jose.
