Gov. Greg Abbott has deployed additional emergency response teams to Florida in preparation for Hurricane Milton, expected to hit Florida's West Coast on Wednesday evening.

The Texas Division of Emergency Management's Incident Management Team will assist with command, operations, logistics, and disaster finance.

Abbott previously sent personnel on Monday, including Swiftwater Rescue Boat Squads and search-and-rescue teams from Texas A&M Task Force 1, to support flood relief efforts.

Abbott and state officials have also approved $50 million in emergency funds to help communities in Southeast Texas recover from Hurricane Beryl and May’s derecho storm.

Google has leased a 1.1 million-square-foot warehouse in Fort Worth, marking its second large-scale lease in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this year.

The property, located at Majestic Silver Creek Business Park, spans 520 acres. Google's lease began over a week ago, on Oct. 1.

Industry experts believe the two large facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are likely intended to support the company’s data center infrastructure and the properties are expected to house data center materials.

These moves are part of Google's $1 billion investment in Texas to meet growing demand for artificial intelligence, Google Cloud, and other services.

A 17-year-old visitor at the State Fair of Texas was hospitalized Tuesday after being struck by an out-of-control Dallas police horse in front of Big Tex.

The incident also resulted in the police officer being thrown from the horse. Witnesses reported that the horse became spooked and ran into a crowd, causing the officer to fall and hit a fairgoer.

The teen was hospitalized, and the officer evaluated for injuries while the horse returned safely to its barn.
