New Hurricane Threatens Florida

Hurricane Milton formed Sunday and rapidly intensified into a Category 1 storm, threatening Florida's Gulf Coast and the Tampa Bay area.

The hurricane is expected to strengthen further, potentially reaching winds of 125 mph by landfall Wednesday. Here’s the storm live tracker.

Gov. Ron DeSantis expanded a state of emergency to 51 counties, urging residents to prepare for evacuations and possible power outages. FEMA is coordinating with state officials and has staged resources in preparation.

Forecasters warn Milton could cause billions of dollars in damage to a region still recovering from Hurricane Helene's recent impact.

Oct. 7 Anniversary Sparks Protests

Anti-Israel and pro-Israel rallies around the world this weekend marked the first anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks in Israel.

The Anti-Defamation League reported more than 10,000 antisemitic incidents in the U.S. in the last year. This is the highest one-year number on record and a 200% increase from the same period the year before the attacks occurred.

Saturday’s demonstrations included a photojournalist lighting himself on fire in front of the White House in protest against Israel’s actions in Gaza.
