Three men affiliated with the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua street gang were arrested in Colorado and New Mexico for the kidnapping and murder of North Texas resident Nilzult Petit. A fourth suspect remains at large.

Petit, 33, was kidnapped and murdered in August after a payment dispute regarding a multi-state ATM theft scheme. The suspects also kidnapped two young children, later abandoning them along an I-35E service road after shooting Petit.

Authorities arrested Carlos Luis Zambrano Bolivar, 25, and Jhonata Nahin Toro Gonzalez, 22, in Aurora, Colorado. Ehiker Alexander Morales Mendoza, 38, was arrested in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

A fourth suspect, 29-year-old Jhonny Jesus Martinez Serrano, has yet to be captured.

Article Icon 1Early Voting Update

More than six million Texans have already voted ahead of Election Day on Nov. 5, amounting to a 33% turnout rate of the state's 18.6 million registered voters.

In-person voting has exceeded the daily totals seen in 2020, when apprehension about COVID-19 kept many people home, while mail-in voting is down

Also, some counties could be behind in reporting election data, and the early voting period in 2020 was 18 days instead of the typical 12.

By the time voting wrapped up in 2020, 66.73% of the state's 16.96 million registered voters participated in the presidential election, while 59.39% participated in 2016.

Article Icon 1The Most Livable Cities In Texas

An analysis of 139 U.S. metropolitan areas by RentCafe, an apartment listing website, shows which Texas cities are the most "livable," ranked by metrics such as cost of living, commute times, and accessibility to healthcare providers.

Dallas (No. 72), Killeen (No. 106), and Austin (No. 109) led the way, each boasting a cost of living below the national average. All three have low poverty rates, and Dallas and Killeen have the highest concentration of healthcare providers in the state.

Unsurprisingly, nearly 50% of residents in Dallas and Austin have long commutes.

Dear Texas Flyover Reader,

The election will be over in six days, but we might not know who wins for many more.

It seems like virtually every other commercial is a political ad, half the neighborhood has a candidate sign stuck in their yard, and there's an absolute spin-fest coming from the legacy media outlets.

I could give you countless examples of bias and spin from election season, but the real proof of the corporate media's failure is on full display in the most recent Gallup survey numbers.

Only 31 percent of Americans say they trust the news media. That's the lowest level recorded by Gallup since they began tracking it in 1972, and it's the reason The Texas Flyover exists.

Americans don't trust the legacy media anymore—and with good reason.

This election season, my team and I have been working extra hard to give you only the facts - with none of the spin.

I added an special election section so our readers have as much information as possible. We aren't perfect – but you have my word we work around the clock, so you have unbiased news to read.

If you have found The Texas Flyover valuable this election season, I'm asking you to consider supporting me and my team with a donation to help us continue our work.

It would mean a lot to me if you contribute—even if it's a small amount. While we appreciate our advertisers – they don't pay all our bills, and I must rely on readers like you. Will you help?
