Former President Donald Trump addressed a packed audience at Georgia Tech's basketball arena, telling supporters that his victory would usher in a "golden age" for the country.

Trump emphasized that the Republican Party stands for common sense and promised to restore American values by opposing open borders and sex-change procedures.

Trump pledged support for struggling Americans, saying,  "We will have no tax on tips, no taxes on overtime, no tax on social security benefits for our seniors. I will support a tax credit for caregivers who take care of a parent or a loved one."

During his speech, Trump also highlighted his intention to impose tariffs on imports, calling tariffs "the most beautiful word in the dictionary" and assuring supporters of his commitment to strong trade policies.

Georgia Amendment 1, appearing on the November ballot, proposes capping annual property tax increases for homeowners at the statewide inflation rate, offering relief to residents facing rising home assessments.

Local governments can opt out of the cap by following a specified process, with a March 1 deadline.

While critics argue the amendment could reduce funding for schools, supporters counter that counties could introduce a small local sales tax to offset any revenue loss, ensuring public services are not compromised.

Advocates emphasize the need for transparent, predictable tax policies to prevent sudden spikes in property taxes, helping homeowners plan for the future.

Atlanta and Fulton County officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Center for Diversion & Services in downtown Atlanta, which aims to provide alternatives to incarceration for individuals facing mental health issues, substance abuse, or homelessness.

The center is intended to ease the burden on the Fulton County jail system by diverting 10,000 individuals annually from incarceration. It will offer a 24/7 sobering room, peer support, case management, and a warrant resolution clinic, as well as showers and laundry facilities.

Antonio Bryant, a former participant in the Policing Alternatives Initiative (PAD), shared how programs like this transformed his life, helping him overcome addiction and connect with healthcare resources.

Dear Georgia Flyover Reader,

The election will be over in six days, but we might not know who wins for many more.

It seems like virtually every other commercial is a political ad, half the neighborhood has a candidate sign stuck in their yard, and there’s an absolute spin-fest coming from the legacy media outlets.

I could give you countless examples of bias and spin from election season, but the real proof of the corporate media’s failure is on full display in the most recent Gallup survey numbers.

Only 31 percent of Americans say they trust the news media. That’s the lowest level recorded by Gallup since they began tracking it in 1972, and it’s the reason The Georgia Flyover exists.

Americans don’t trust the legacy media anymore—and with good reason.

This election season, my team and I have been working extra hard to give you only the facts - with none of the spin.

I added an special election section so our readers have as much information as possible. We aren’t perfect – but you have my word we work around the clock, so you have unbiased news to read.

If you have found The Georgia Flyover valuable this election season, I’m asking you to consider supporting me and my team with a donation to help us continue our work.

It would mean a lot to me if you contribute—even if it’s a small amount. While we appreciate our advertisers – they don’t pay all our bills, and I must rely on readers like you. Will you help?
