Wellness Tips for the New Year

Happy New Year, CRUSHer!

I hope you’re ready to have an amazing New Year! 

Reflections and resolutions are inevitable during the new year, both of which can be very helpful.

This time can be a fresh start, a blank canvas on which to paint your dreams and goals.

However, it’s also far too easy to slip into the “new year, new you” rhetoric that can damage your mental and overall health.

Many of us tend to set unattainable goals based on negative emotions such as “lose 30 lbs this month.”

These rarely succeed and can create anxiety and decreased self-worth rather than motivation and encouragement.

Plus, the idea that you weren’t good enough last week and you need to be “fixed” is toxic to your health and self-esteem.

That doesn’t mean resolutions are always awful or reflection is pointless!

On the contrary, this time of year can be rejuvenating and motivating, perfect for taking the first step to completing a goal or simply being healthier and happier.

Feel free to embrace the new year, look back at last year, and pursue some simple, attainable goals.
