Can you believe it? It's almost December!! One of the things I get most excited about this time of year are the smells and flavors that fill our home as we prepare our favorite Christmas goodies from around the world.

I wanted to share some Christmas classics with you that take some advance planning in order to gather ingredients and to make some of those ingredients yourself, like your own homemade candied orange and lemon peel (it's a total GAME CHANGER! Just read the comments on our Stollen and Mincemeat posts to see what I mean.) and your own homemade German gingerbread spice blend (Lebkuchengewürz). I'm also starting with these particular Christmas recipes because they are ones that are traditionally enjoyed after they've had time to sit and "mature" for a while for optimal flavor development.

Below is also my recipe for French Beef Bourguignon, one of my all-time favorite dishes that I especially enjoy on these chilly evenings. This recipe gives classic Beef Bourguignon a major boost in flavor with an added technique and a "secret" ingredient that takes the flavor completely over the edge.

Let the holiday baking begin! :)

Love,
Kimberly

Featured in magazines and all across the web, this has been rated the BEST slow cooker pot roast recipe EVER! The depth of flavor is simply phenomenal and is guaranteed to get rave reviews from around the dinner table!

You can make this in your slow cooker, in the oven, or on the stove top – either way you'll be sitting down to a truly memorable, mouthwateringly delicious meal!

Do you like the taste of boxed Rice-a-Roni but have been looking for a healthier alternative? Do you dislike boxed Rice-a-Roni, or have never heard of it, but are looking for a delicious and versatile side dish? Whichever camp you're in, you're going to LOVE this homemade Rice a Roni! Naturally gluten free and can easily be made vegetarian/vegan.

Feel free to change things up to vary the flavor profile: your choice of beef, chicken or vegetable broth, swap out the walnuts for pecans or pine nuts, use different herbs, and you can even add some veggies for added nutrition and flavor.

This is one of my most favorite rice side dishes!

Set the pumpkin aside and go for sweet potato! Not only is sweet potato more nutritious, it has a much richer flavor! Win-Win!

This Southern Sweet Potato Pie uses an old-fashioned trick - sour cream - to both round out the flavors and create an especially rich and velvety-smooth texture! You're going to love it!
