Hello reader As it's very nearly the 1st of December, I feel it's okay to mention the C word - Christmas. I'm starting to get preperations underway and planning what edible gifts I'll make this year. Have you started yet? With this in mind, this week's recipe is for air fryer parsnip chips. They're so delicious as well as quick and easy to prepare. They make a good stand in for roast parsnips for Sunday lunch or Christmas dinner, but also go well with burgers and all sorts of other meals. What's more if you have an air fryer, it frees up precious space in the oven. My recipe is made for air frying, but I've given instructions on how to make them in an oven too. These parsnip chips are so good, they make an excellent stand alone healthy snack. Who needs crisps? I've given two flavour options: a herby one and a spicy one, but they're easy to adapt to your favourite herb and spice combinations. They're also very good plain. Try them and let me know what you think. If you watched last week's episode of Great British Bake Off, you'll know the technical challenge was to make lardy cakes. Well it just so happens that I have a recipe for vegetarian lardy cakes on my blog. No sooner was the challenge over than I started getting lots of hits on that recipe. I think visitors will have been disappointed though. They're vegetarian after all. Mine is a more traditional stand alone bun and the photographs leave a little to be desired. But it's an excellent recipe (though I say it myself) and the lardy cakes taste almost as good as the ones I grew up with from our local baker - and they were very very good. In other news, the font issue on Tin and Thyme is now sorted - phew! So the text should be nice and easy to read once again. If you ever see any issues on the site, please feel free to let me know. I don't always spot them.

P.S. Please do let me know if you make any of my recipes and remember to star rate them. It really helps to make them more visible on search engines. I especially appreciate questions or feedback via comments on the blog posts. |
