My sister Peggy and partner in the Market made a special visit to the Maalouf world of Olive Harvest in Lebanon last year. She calls Chafic "a genius with olives" who also employs many people from local villages and offers affordable milling services to the region.
Olive Harvest and Maalouf Extra Virgin Olive Oils are comprised solely of the Souri varietal of olives indigenous to Lebanon. They are grown exclusively in and around the Koura region north of Beirut, location of the Maalouf groves.
