Are you nutty for dessert? We are in my house. Many nut varieties are grown in Italy - including hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts and pistachios - and they're a big part of Italian cuisine. But nowhere will you find them more than in baking!
Whether it's thin pecan cookies, supreme chocolate drop cookies or a crunchy triple biscotti, nuts are often found in Italian cookies. They also shine in cake and, you can't forget chocolate hazelnut cream spread (you might know it as Nutella). This creamy spread is a must have for slathering on toast, scones, muffins or cake filling. Or you can just dip fruit in it for a quick sweet snack!
