Testing a vehicle's braking performance is a really important part of the annual test. So, we're reminding all operators to bring your vehicles to test with a load. To carry out the brake test effectively, you should load your vehicle to 65% of its design axle weight. You can supply the load yourself or the Authorised Testing Facility (ATF) may be able to supply ballast for you. There may be a charge for this, so it is best to check with the ATF first. We're working with the Traffic Commissioners to highlight the importance of laden brake testing, and we'll share a blog post from them about this in the next few months.
