An incredibly rich and satisfying soup with a depth of flavor that will make your taste buds sing!

Whether you're fan of Hungarian food, mushrooms, or simply love good soups, this Hungarian-influenced mushroom soup is for you!

This was one of the very first recipes I published on my blog back in January 2013. I remember the first time I made it. We had my family over for dinner and I was eager to see what they thought. The expressions on their faces and the praise that followed was enough to convince me that this soup was a slam-dunk winner. And it's been winning praise ever since.

Serve this Hungarian Mushroom Soup with some crusty bread and a leafy green salad and get ready for the rave reviews!

One of my very favorite seasonings, it's also the simplest to make with only TWO INGREDIENTS!

A super simple but incredibly powerful seasoned salt to add intense depth, flavor and a burst of umami to your dishes. Sprinkle this porcini salt over your steamed or grilled veggies; baked, mashed or roasted potatoes; salads, rice, risotto, pasta, polenta, grits, scrambled eggs, popcorn, meat and poultry dishes, in rubs, dipping oils, and more. It's an umami-rich seasoned salt with a flavor unlike any other!

And you can also give it away as a unique and classy hostess gift!

Last Week:

No other spice blend brings back memories of my study abroad in Jerusalem like Za'atar. Incredibly fragrant and flavorful, Za'atar is the seasoning blend you never knew you needed but absolutely do!

Za'atar is traditionally enjoyed with bread that is first dipped in olive oil followed by the spice blend. It is also combined with olive to form a paste that is spread on dough and then baked as a seasoned flatbread known as man'ousheh or manakish (soooo good!). But there are many, many additional ways this fabulous seasoning blend can be enjoyed and I provide a whole list of ideas in the blog post!
