October & November 2021 STATS FOR STORIES (SFS) It's the middle of Family Week. For tomorrow, here are some Thanksgiving Day Fun Facts. Friday is Black Friday and Native American Heritage Day. Saturday is Small Business Saturday. November is American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month, Aviation History Month, Diabetes Month, and Family Caregivers Month.   National Family Week: November 21-27 According to the 2019 American Community Survey, average family size has grown from 3.20 in 2007 to 3.23 in 2019. There are about 79.6 million families. Get Stats Black Friday: November 26 According to the 2019 County Business Patterns, the retail trade sector had 1,044,957 establishments, 15.7 million employees and $470.5 billion in annual payroll. More Stats Native American Heritage Day: November 26 The 2020 Census counted the American Indian and Alaska Native alone population at about 3.7M and the alone or in combination population at about 9.7M. Stats Here Small Business Saturday: November 27 The2019 County Business Patterns series counted 7,959,103 establishments in the U.S. Most (6,780,893) has less than 20 employees and averaged about 4.5 each. More Stats National Family Caregivers Month: November The 2019 American Community Survey counted 488,187 childcare workers; 761,338 personal care aides; and 65,992 personal care and service workers, all other. More Stats National Aviation History Month: November The 2020 M3 Survey reported the seasonally adjusted value of shipments of U.S. total defense aircraft and parts at $55.6B and nondefense at $80.9B.
