I'm Still Team Slow Cooker! You?

Hey there reader!

I hope you had a lovely week!

Over the last few years, the Instant Pot and Air Fryer have become so popular - like there are entire blogs that focus on these small kitchen appliances.

I see the pros in these gadgets and even own an Instant Pot/air fryer duo. But I don't know if I'm just old school, resistant to change, or both, but I still prefer my good ole slow cooker.

I love my slow cooker and use it 1-2 times a week. I'll use it on the weekends for meal prep and during the week when I need a hands-off recipe ready to eat on busy nights.

Next to my Vitamix (for smoothies), my slow cooker is the small kitchen appliance I use most often.

Here's why.

  • Mostly, I prefer the hands-free, longer cooking times. I find it helpful to have a slow cooker recipe cooking while I work or run errands. There's nothing better than coming home to dinner ready.
  • Slow cooker recipes are easy to cook. Some do require a little extra prep, but you throw the ingredients into the insert and turn it on for the most part. Often, I get the ingredients ready a day or two before, so I only need to turn it on in the morning
  • I've learned many tips for tasty slow cooker recipes. This could also mean that I'm resistant to change, but I feel like I've mastered slow cooker recipes. I know what to expect with a slow cooker recipe and how to adapt it when I need to.

Anyway, if you prefer using your slow cooker, here are the recipes I make most often.

These are my two favorite slow cooker recipes to make on the weekends to have ready to use in healthy meals during the week. Although, there are times I'll make these during the week.

Basic Shredded Chicken

Slow Cooker Steel Cut Oats

  • I portion this out for breakfast all week. This recipe makes a lot, so you can even freeze some portions for breakfast all month.

Here are six of my favorite Slow Cooker recipes to make during the week. Typically, I prepare ingredients the night before. All of these recipes can cook between 5-8 hours - some longer.

See all of my slow cooker recipes here.

I'm always looking for new slow cooker recipes so, if you have one to share, hit reply and let me know or share it in our Facebook Group.

Have a great weekend!
