Did you know median household income for the nation decreased 2.9% between 2018 and 2019? Every year, the Census Bureau releases a report on income and poverty.

Learn how to differentiate between and locate income data tables and reports from the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplements (CPS ASEC), including the Income and Poverty in the United States reports and tables, detailed tables, and historical tables.

This Data Gem covers some basic information about how different types of income (personal, household, and family) are measured.

2020 CPS ASEC statistics became available in September of 2021.
