Good Afternoon! I'm grabbing a few minutes while the grandson is napping to say "hey you!". Today is such a great day! The sun is shining, a friend's grand baby arrived safe and sound (albeit on the other coast of America) and thankfully, nothing devastating has happened yet today. Besides that, a great cup of coffee started the day, what could go wrong? But, you didn't arrive here to chat about the weather or that other stuff, you came for the FOOD! I've gone on about Thanksgiving the last two newsletters so, I'm going to update you on the latest recipes around here... I'm a little late to the game on Make Ahead Breakfast Burritos, but let me tell you, once you do it once, you won't let your freezer run out of these again! I'm finding them to be the perfect "chuck in the oven when I get up and grab before I run out the door" breakfast. They also work for a fast lunch (and I've even served them for dinner) because, what's not to love? The best part? You can make them your own with what you love in them! Someone asked if you can reuse cooking oil and "is it safe"? So, I answered that in this "Can I Reuse Cooking Oil" article. There are some things that we just chow down on around here and things like tater tot casseroles are number one. This Cream of Chicken Tater Tot Casserole rings all the bells and I bet your family will like it too (plus, it comes together in one dish if you have a cast iron skillet!). If you need to cook up a bunch of hot dogs FAST, then the pressure cooker is the way to go. Pressure Cooker Hot Dogs article will show you how! Mexican Chicken Dorito Casserole is a winner and OH SO easy to do! Try this one today! _______________________ If you need to WATCH how to make any of these recipes, just click on over to YouTube and see for yourself. Our videos are always short and sweet. We get right to the point and you get a bird's eye view of what's happening in the pan! I would appreciate it if you would leave a comment on any video! That helps our videos be found by others looking for food videos! Thanks! _______________________ HOT COOKING TIP OF THE WEEK I know I said I would leave Thanksgiving alone this week, but I just can't. Did you get your bird out of the freezer yet? If so, it's about time to put it in the fridge for thawing. 20-24lb bird - get it out TODAY! 16-19 lbs - make sure it get's out of the freezer on Saturday. 12-15 lbs - get it out of the freezer on Sunday 4-11 lbs - out of the freezer on Monday However... If you are going to use my recipe for Turkey and do the whole brine, you'll need to start the brine on Tuesday so, go ahead and get it out now. I put mine in the fridge yesterday. Hope that helps! __________________________ THREE LITTLE THINGS I am trying to be more thankful for little things and sharing those here so that you can be reminded to be more thankful too.
__________________________ A LAST WORD There you are! I see you! Thank you for hanging around till the end! What are you serving up this week? What's your favorite dish? What are you able to fix that you enjoy with limited availability of just about everything? I saw a stranger on social media say that she wasn't having Thanksgiving because she couldn't afford to feed everyone and so she was just going to stay home by herself and have a TV dinner. Please spend some time this holiday season with some loved ones or neighbors or a friend. Be safe but don't be alone. Even if everyone has to bring their own peanut butter sandwich, share stories and each other's company. Im going to encourage you to check on your neighbors and see if any of them is alone for the holiday. Maybe invite them for a piece of pie if you can't see your way to invite them for the whole shootin match. Have a blessed week and I'll stop by your inbox next week to see what's happening. God willing and the creeks don't rise. Love you! Wendi Unsubscribe | Update your profile | PO Box 82 , Danbury, NC 27016 |
