We LOVE Thanksgiving leftovers just as much - or maybe even more than the dinner itself. Scroll below to see 13 amazing recipes - all made with leftovers from your Thanksgiving meal!
First things first - whatever you do - don't throw out that turkey carcass after you've carved the meat for dinner!! Make this incredible, Homemade Turkey Stock. It can be used for soups and many of the other leftover recipes below, or freeze it for later.
Speaking of soup, here are a few very delicious choices:
- Leftover Turkey Noodle Soup - A simple, flavorful classic that everyone loves. You can add leftover vegetables as well as leftover turkey.
- Cream of Turkey Soup - Chunks of turkey in a thick & creamy broth. This soup is absolutely, satisfyingly delicious!
- New England Turkey Chowder - A silky-smooth turkey and potato chowder, that gets extra flavor from salt pork and fresh thyme. (This is one of our favorites!)
- Turkey Stracciatella Soup - This Italian egg-drop soup is light and delicious. It's perfect for when you don't want a heavy meal after the holidays!
Here are some delicious dishes for a crowd - especially good for feeding family & friends staying all weekend:
- Turkey Pot Pie - We look forward to this pot pie every year! Tender chunks of turkey and vegetables, smothered in a cream sauce, all nestled under a crispy crust. (I'm drooling just writing about it!)
- Turkey Tetrazzini - No canned soups involved, this casserole classic has creamy noodles and turkey under a cheesy potato chip crust!
- Turkey Divan - A turkey version of this casserole classic. Tender chunks of turkey and broccoli in a homemade Mornay sauce (that's a fancy name for a white sauce with Gruyère Swiss cheese), topped with almonds and crispy crumbs.
- Hot Turkey & Stuffing Sandwich - Affectionately known as 'Thanksgiving Dinner Round Two' in our family, this easy sandwich has all of the same flavors as your holiday dinner!
