Happy Friday my friend!
It's here, we made it and here's to a relaxing weekend ahead.
As you know, D has been back to school and with that comes the parade of fun illnesses, colds, viruses etc...
She came home with a bug last week and Tim and I have been taking zinc like it's M&Ms to keep it at bay. She's fully recovered, but I wasn't so lucky.
So yesterday I took a sick day...and let me tell you it was HARD. Looking around at all the things that needed to get done, all the blog work I wanted to finish, recipe testing etc....
But I forced myself to take a day to do nothing except rest, heal, drink lots of fluids (and snack of course).
I gotta tell you, it worked. I have a new found energy today and I'm going to take it slow, and stay as calm and restful as possible.
So if you needed permission today to rest, here it is. TAKE THE DAY OFF. Heal your body, rest your mind, and enjoy some comfort food. There are no rules today, no expectations. Give yourself the grace to reset.
I left you some recipes below for comfort food that if you have the energy to make--go for it, or have a loved whip you up a batch. Or make a batch for a friend that's sick!
