Nat'l Chocolate Day: Here's My Chocolate-Loving History that goes back to my grandfather's era.
 | ~ A Chocoholic's History ~ I'm not as you may know a big crowd-joiner when it comes to National This or That Day. But for chocolate, I make an exception. Today is National Chocolate Day; what will I do differently? Nothing, because I already eat chocolate almost every day, as do at least two of my siblings and now Dan also. I attribute every chocolate-loving thing about myself to my mom, and really, her parents. Here's why, along with the recipe her father built his confectionery business on. There's not a ton to do with chocolate in Lebanese confectionery traditions, but that does not stop me from a whole lot of choco-recipes on my site. Let's take a tour: Chocolate Caramel Pecan Tart, chocolate crinkles, chocolate cut-outs. Dipped chocolates straight from my grandfather, and chocolate-dipped candied citrus peel straight from culinary school. Also: Toasted Marshmallow Showstopper Cake, Dark Chocolate Cake, Double Chocolate Cake, Chocolate Tahini Breakfast Rolls, Chocolate Cupcakes, and My Mom's Chocolate Buttercream. And don't miss, DO NOT MISS!, this Drinking Chocolate.
I'm thinking of developing a chocolate baklawa for holidays. Purists, please don't hate me. | | |
