Small Business Pulse Survey Updates

Based on responses collected August 30 through September 5, the Small Business Pulse Survey estimates that:

  • 20.9% of U.S. Health Care and Social Assistance Small Businesses required employees to have proof of COVID-19 vaccination before physically coming to work in the last week. For responses collected 8/30-9/5, this statistic was 18.5%

  • 53.7% of U.S. Construction small businesses experienced a large increase in prices paid for goods & services compared to what was normal before 3/13/20. The national average is 28.7%

  • 29.0% of U.S. Information (publishing, broadcasting, telecommunications, web) small businesses experienced a moderate decrease in demand for their goods or services compared to what was normal before March 13, 2020. The national average for this statistic was 21.7%

Comparing now to what was normal before March 13, 2020, how has demand for this business's goods or services changed?
  • 43.2% of Puerto Rico small businesses required employees to have proof of COVID-19 vaccination before physically coming to work in the last week. The national average for this statistic is 10.2%

In the last week, did this business require employees to have proof of COVID-19 vaccination before physically coming to work?
  • 21.6% of U.S. small businesses expect to identify new supply chain options in the next 6 months. For responses collected 8/30-9/5, this statistic was 20.4%
  • 24.7% of U.S. small businesses experienced delays in delivery/shipping to customers in the last week. For responses collected 8/30-9/5, this statistic was 23.8%
  • 21.0% of U.S. small businesses experienced difficulty in locating alternate domestic suppliers in the last week. For responses collected 8/30-9/5, this statistic was 20.1%
