August & September 2021 STATS FOR STORIES (SFS) Today begins Hispanic Heritage Month. This week is Staffing Employee Week. Tomorrow is Mexico's Independence Day and Stepfamily Day. Friday is Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. Saturday is Dance Day. Sunday is the Emmy Awards and the beginning of Minority Enterprise Development Week and Unmarried and Single Americans Week.   National Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15-Oct. 15 The 2019 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 328,239,523 which includes 60,481,746 (about 18.4%) who identified as Hispanic or Latino. Stats Here National Staffing Employee Week: September 13-19 The 2018 County Business Patterns program counted 53,708 employment services establishments with a total of 7,012,453 paid employees and a $320B annual payroll. Get Stats Mexico Independence Day (1810): September 16 The Census Bureau's International Data Base estimated Mexico's 2021 population at 130.2M and the U.S. at 332.5M, the world's 10th and 3rd most populous countries. More Stats National Stepfamily Day: September 16 The 2019 American Community Survey estimated there were 59.5M biological children, 1.4M adopted children, and 2.4M stepchildren out of 32.5M householders. Stats Here Constitution Day and Citizenship Day: September 17 The 2019 American Community Survey estimated there were 306.5M citizens and 21.8M noncitizens in the U.S. About 277.9M citizens were born in the U.S. Get Stats National Dance Day: September 18 The 2019 County Business Patterns estimated 710 dance companies in the U.S. with 11,055 employees and an annual payroll of $333.4 million. More Stats 73rd Emmy Awards (television): September 19 The 2019 County Business Patterns reports 2,067 establishments in television broadcasting with 122,658 employees and an $11.3 billion annual payroll. Stats Here Minority Enterprise Development Week: September 19-25 The 2018 Annual Business Survey counted 1,048,323 minority firms with 9,432,081 employees and $323 billion in annual payroll. Get Stats Unmarried and Single Americans Week: September 19-25 In 2020, about 45.4% of Americans aged 18 and over, or 114.3 million, were unmarried according to the Current Population Survey.
