STATS FOR STORIES (SFS)

Today begins Hispanic Heritage Month. This week is Staffing Employee Week. Tomorrow is Mexico's Independence Day and Stepfamily Day. Friday is Constitution Day and Citizenship Day. Saturday is Dance Day. Sunday is the Emmy Awards and the beginning of Minority Enterprise Development Week and Unmarried and Single Americans Week.

 

Hispanic

National Hispanic Heritage Month: Sept. 15-Oct. 15

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated the U.S. population at 328,239,523 which includes 60,481,746 (about 18.4%) who identified as Hispanic or Latino.

National Staffing Employee Week: September 13-19

The 2018 County Business Patterns program counted 53,708 employment services establishments with a total of 7,012,453 paid employees and a $320B annual payroll.

Mexico

Mexico Independence Day (1810): September 16

The Census Bureau's International Data Base estimated Mexico's 2021 population at 130.2M and the U.S. at 332.5M, the world's 10th and 3rd most populous countries.

National Stepfamily Day: September 16

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated there were 59.5M biological children, 1.4M adopted children, and 2.4M stepchildren out of 32.5M householders.

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day: September 17

The 2019 American Community Survey estimated there were 306.5M citizens and 21.8M noncitizens in the U.S. About 277.9M citizens were born in the U.S.
