Chewy Granola Bars

The key to healthy snacking is this: simplicity!

When the season flips over to fall, kids go back to school, adults go back to work, it seems like everyone is left scrambling for the holy grail of long days and lunchboxes: snacks!

The problem with snacks is that most of us reach for store-bought ones for convenience. While manufactured snacks are indeed handy (I regularly slip some in my son's lunchbox, too!), our bodies would thank us if we swapped in some homemade ones from time to time, too. My best advice for healthy snacking? Keep it simple!

No need to slave for hours in the kitchen to make nutritious snacks. With a little prep, some planning, and a freezer, you could whip up a month's worth of delicious snacks prepped in just a few hours! And I promise your homemade snacks will be delicious and good-for-you, and, best of all, they will be devoured quickly!

If you need portable snacks, try chewy granola bars, scrumptious make-ahead muffins, or power cookies. An easy, healthy, tasty dip with veggies is perfect to put on the table for the kids (and you) to snack on while they do their homework. And some crunchy cocktail nuts are just what you need to quell those hunger pangs before dinner is ready!

Nut & Fruit Chewy Granola Bars

Granola bars are the lifesaver of snacks. They're easy to slide into a packed school or work lunch or, pop one into your purse before heading out to run a million errands. Drop one into your kids' backpacks before they leave for sports practice or music lessons to keep them fueled up on the go.

These Chewy Nut & Fruit Granola Bars will tame even the worst afternoon hunger and they're very flexible—just use whatever dried fruit, nuts, or seeds you have on hand. You can have a different bar every time you make them!

It's deliciously creamy, quicker to make than hummus thanks to super tender white beans, and perfect for dipping fresh veggies,  pita chips, or tasty crackers. Lay it out on the kitchen table while the kids do their homework for everyone to snack on.

PS: It's so easy to make! Simply toss all the ingredients into the food processor and blitz away!
