Hello There!

Happy Labor day weekend!

Anyone planning a Labor Day BBQ? Our neighbors usually like to get together to celebrate with some BBQ to kind of say good bye to summer as we don't have too many warm days left in the season..

So, I'm going to share some great Chicken recipes that I actually started to grill outside this summer more than cook in the oven or on the pan. You can just use these recipes and marinate the chicken (breast or thighs) and then grill outside on our BBQ.

I probably cooked these every other week throughout this summer. It's great in a Korean meal, but honestly it's even great with just American BBQ sides like green or potato salads and grilled veggies.

My husband is not the best cook but he is always happy to grill for me and grilling outside just makes cooking a meal a lot more enjoyable so that's we did a lot this summer.

Hope you enjoy this weekend to the fullest whatever you do. πŸ’•πŸ₯©πŸ”

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

XOXO ❤️,

JinJoo

YUMMY CHICKEN RECIPES for GRILLIN'

Block 9th

As we are all trying to eat more healthy, I find chicken recipes are my favorite go to meat for everyday meals. Between this Spicy Gochujang version above (which I originally made for the oven), and the mild, non-spicy Soy Sauce Bulgogi version (basically tastes like beef bulgogi but a bit milder), you can make these easily any time.

You can also use chicken breast instead if you want to make it even more healthier. And if you want more Korean BBQ recipes, you can check this post for 6 Korean BBQ Marinades including beef, chicken, pork and more.

Whatever main dishes you prepare, you are sure to find one of these salads to go wonderfully with your BBQ party.

Not shown here in the picture, but I also have my most popular Korean Potato Salad and Creamy Apple Onion Celery salad which is always a great side to any meal.

Did you know that there are 5 different sizes of Dried Anchovies (Mareun Myeolchi) used in Korean cooking? And their uses are different?

You can read all about it in my Ingredient Glossary page for this essential ingredient in Korean cooking.

KOREAN COLD NOODLE RHAPSODY?

I heard about this in our facebook group and I started watching the Korean Cold Noodle Rhapsody on Netflix - and was reminded of all the wonderful yummy North Korean style (Yibuksik 이뢁식) cold noodle soups I used to have growing up!! OH BOY, did it bring back my memories!!

I loved how they highlighted the history and also all the different broth variations.

Please note that the North Korean style is not sweet (unlike many you taste these days) and is often made with beef broth or Dongchimi liquid or both. Here's my recipe for making my family version of Naengmyeon from scratch - at home.

And if Naengmyeon is NOT your thing, try making this easy Kimchimari Guksu! It's the most perfect way to end a wonderful Korean BBQ dinner. So easy and simple to make.

Hope you all have a good rest of the week.
