Weekly Organize Yourself Skinny Newsletter (August 8th)

Hey there reader

Well, the first week of August is in the books. In exactly one month, school will be back in session for my girls, and then the craziness of dance and sports begins.

Who am I kidding? My whole summer has been filled with dance camps, volleyball camps, sleepover parties, graduation parties, and everything in between. I think I can honestly say that this has been one of the busiest summers for me ever.

Of course, I can't complain because last summer we were stuck at home. And, I like my kids keeping busy. It helps them stay focused, on track with routines and a schedule, and hopefully out of trouble.

Anyway, with school only a month away, my goal for August is to get ahead of the game. Starting next weekend, I plan to get some breakfast, dinners, and snacks in the freezer, so I don't have to think about meals too much in September. I'll do this every weekend in August. Some other things I want to do this month:

  • Get back on track with exercise. I've been doing minimal activity this last month or so. I need to start pushing myself so that I can see progress again. This includes strength training.
  • Stay on track with water. It's so easy for me to overestimate the amount of water I drink every day. I need to track every sip.
  • Get my kids organized for back to school. This includes closet purges, school supplies, and new school clothes.
  • Organize my office. I want to start September fresh.
  • Get all essential dates in the calendar and start time-blocking my schedule for September.
  • Get ahead of the game with work. I need a break from work more than ever, so I plan to get ahead by a few weeks….hopefully...so I can take a couple of solid weeks off in October or November.

The Back to School time is always a time for me to refocus - it's almost like a second New Year's for me. I like to start the Fall organized and ready
