BDS Explorer; Job Creation: 2018; NAICS Sector: Health Care and Social Assistance (62)

Today the U.S. Census Bureau announced the release of Business Dynamics Statistics (BDS) Explorer version 1.0. BDS Explorer provides access to the entire BDS dataset via line charts, bar charts and thematic maps. The application's intuitive dashboard allows for the construction of tables and charts to compare and rank measures of business dynamism such as employment, job creation and destruction, and firm births and deaths across a wide range of establishment and firm characteristics.

Available analyses include:

  • A longitudinal look at job creation by establishment age across counties.
  • Ranking establishment entry rates of young firms across North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) industry groups.
  • Comparing job destruction rates by firm size across a selection of metropolitan areas.

More information about BDS Explorer is available on the BDS Explorer homepage. More information about the BDS dataset is available on the BDS homepage.
