The M61 is closed in both directions between Junction 2 (M62) and Junction 4 (Atherton) for a police led incident North West Motorway Police Group are in attendance. Northbound diversion Follow the solid square symbol Exit M61 at J2 Take the A666 Kearsley Spur Take the 1st exit off the roundabout onto the A6053 northbound At the A5082 junction turn left onto the A5082 westbound At the A6 junction turn right onto the A6 westbound Re-join the M61 at J4 Southbound diversion Follow the solid circle symbol Exit M61 at J4 Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto the A6 eastbound At the A5082 junction turn left onto the A5082 northbound At the A6053 junction turn right onto the A6053 eastbound At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A666 Kearsley spur Re-join the M61 at J2 Delays are likely on approach to the closures, with additional journey times also expected on diversion routes.
