Submit a notification by the deadline to keep active substances in the GB Review Programme. Prior to 1 January 2021, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) published open invitations allowing a person, company or task force/consortium to notify an intention to take up or take over the role of participant in supporting several active substance/product type combinations for assessment in the EU Review Programme. On 1 January 2021 HSE published open invitations for those same active substance/product type combinations to provide an opportunity for a person, company or task force/consortium to notify an intention to take up or take over the role of participant in the GB Review Programme. Anyone wishing to support one of the active substance/product type combinations listed below in Great Britain (GB) will need to submit a notification to HSE by the following deadlines: - Sodium N-(hydroxymethyl)glycinate (CAS 70161-44-3 EC 274-357-8) in product type 6 – 17 August 2021
- Reaction mass of titanium dioxide and silver chloride (CAS n/a EC n/a) in product types 1, 2, 6, 7 and 9 – 18 August 2021
- (benzyloxy)methanol (CAS 14548-60-8 EC 238-588-8) in product type 13 – 9 October 2021
If no-one takes up or takes over the role of participant, these active substance/product type combinations will be subject to a GB non-approval decision. Biocidal products containing active substances with GB non-approval decisions for the relevant product types will have to be removed from the GB market. HSE will provide separate updates on these where relevant. Please note that GB notification and dossier submissions are separate to any EU notification/submission to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), via R4BP. Apply for product authorisation by the deadlines to keep products on the GB market. The following GB Biocidal Products Regulation (GB BPR) active substance approval dates are coming up: - Formaldehyde (CAS 50-00-0 EC 200-001-8) in product types 2 and 3 – 1 February 2022
- sec-butyl 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)piperidine-1- carboxylate (Icaridine) (CAS 119515-38-7 EC 423-210-8) in product type 19 – 1 February 2022
Don't forget to apply for GB BPR product authorisation by the dates above to keep existing biocidal products containing these active substances in the relevant product types on the Great Britain market. Make sure you are receiving important information about your product authorisations and approvals. Businesses that hold product authorisations and approvals in Great Britain and Northern Ireland under the GB and EU Biocidal Products Regulations (GB BPR and EU BPR) or the Control of Pesticides Regulations (COPR) should make sure HSE has the right contact details. If the details we hold are out of date, you may not receive important information about your product authorisation or approval. Update your details by emailing us at biocidesapplications@hse.gov.uk.
