How to make sure you have a cold drink wherever you go
This may date me, but when I was in college, the Nalgene was the statement water bottle. It didn't do much to keep water cold, but it identified you as outdoorsy and clipped so usefully on to your cargo shorts. And while there is a certain throwback appeal to a Nalgene, water bottles are just better than they used to be. Vacuum-insulated stainless steel bottles promise cold water (or hot tea) kept at temperature for hours. They're also more ubiquitous. A full water bottle will probably be next to you at your desk all day, join you on your trip to the gym, and get tucked in your bag whenever you leave the house.
Writers Allison Considine and Wilder Davies spent time with a variety of water bottles of all shapes and styles to figure which one performed best under the rigors of everyday life. If your current bottle is leaky, cumbersome, or just plain won't keep your water cold, consider one of their top picks (and if you already have one, pick up the brush below to properly clean it). They may not be cargo shorts compatible, but they more than do the job. If you want to know more about how we tested you can read the full review here.
