MDHHS issues Requests for Proposals for domestic

violence comprehensive services in select counties

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFPs) to provide services to victims of domestic/intimate partner and dating violence, as well as their dependent children, in Muskegon, Monroe, Cass, St. Joseph and Van Buren counties.

The Domestic Violence Comprehensive Services Competitive Supplemental RFP supports a wide range of flexible supportive services and resources, including temporary emergency housing; individual/group support; emergency intervention services; systems change, community education and public awareness; advocacy and supportive services; and counseling/therapy.

This RFP is open to Native American tribes and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, including faith-based organizations, providing domestic violence services. A total of $1,419,811 million is available in this RFP, and MDHHS anticipates issuing approximately five awards. Applicants must apply to cover one of the three service areas listed below:

  • Muskegon County – maximum of $570,733 available
  • Monroe County – maximum of $320,055 available
  • Cass, St. Joseph and Van Buren counties – maximum of $529,023 available

Funded applicants will receive ongoing technical assistance from the MDHHS project coordinator. Technical assistance will include help with program start-up, reporting requirements and barriers to program implementation.

Grant applications for the Domestic Violence Comprehensive Services Competitive Supplemental RFP must be submitted electronically through the MI E-Grants program by 3 p.m. on Aug.27.  The program period begins Oct. 1, 2021 and ends Sept. 30, 2022.
