Lunch at Xinshi Ancient Village (near Huzhou in Zhejiang province) took place at a restaurant recommended by a good friend that served a variety of noodles. Among the most popular ones were the noodles served with either lamb or shrimp and eel. Ahh, the lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender and a perfect mixture of fatty and lean portions. The shrimp and eel were complemented by the abundance of caramelized onions, giving it a hint of sweetness. I also gotta give extra points to the broth - so rich and full of flavour...yum yum!
