My Meal Plan + Weekly Recap (May 23rd)

Hey there reader,

I hope you had a nice week.

To be honest, this past week was a rough one for me.

I feel burnt out. This time of year there's always a bunch of moving parts going. My kids are super active in sports, dance, and other school activities and it's a lot of organizing and driving. I know I shouldn't complain, since last year, everything was canceled. But, my candle is just about burnt out for the school year.

Also, I've been working hard on getting Organize Yourself Skinny ready for the big Google update. I've been blogging for 10 years and it's amazing how many things have changed. But it's important to keep up with the changes, especially when working in the online world.

Of course, beyond Google, there are so many other ideas I have for the direction of my blog so I'm spending a lot brainstorming and mapping that out. Look for a survey soon to share your ideas for Organize Yourself Skinny.

The last couple of Sundays I didn't get to meal prep - and I felt it during the week! Skipping out on meal prep brought unnecessary stress to my week and I'm confident added to the burnout. It was a strong reminder that meal prep NEEDS to happen. Without meal prep the rest of my week is totally off so it's worth it to squeeze even a little bit in - no matter how busy we are.

Feeling burnt out also took its toll on my exercise schedule. Ugh. I only got on the treadmill twice and it was barely a workout.

Anyway, I'm telling you this for a couple of reasons. First, I want you to know that I'm human. I go through all of the ups and downs that everyone else does. Second, I need to put it out there so I can hold myself accountable and get back on track.

My life functions much better when meals are planned and prepped. Not to mention, I have more energy and happier when I exercise 5-6 times a week.

Here's my plan to get back on track.

Leaving a recipe rating and comment on my blog also tells Google that this is a good recipe and they should show it in the search results. This helps food bloggers (like myself) keep doing what we do. So, thank you. I appreciate all of your support.

If you already follow me over on those platforms but are not seeing any of my posts, it's because Facebook and Instagram are constantly switching up their algorithm. This makes it harder for bloggers to reach their readers.
