HSE has received an Authorisation review report for the following substance/use: - Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (EC: 204-211-0; CAS: 117-81-7). Use for the processing of a stop-off formulation containing DEHP during the diffusion bonding and manufacture of aero engine fan blades.
Article 64 in the UK REACH Regulation makes provisions for HSE to obtain and use additional information on possible alternatives or technologies as part of the opinion forming process. As such, HSE has announced a public consultation. Any third parties with an interest in the application are strongly encouraged to share any relevant information. Scientific and technical information on possible alternatives or technologies should be submitted directly to HSE using the commenting webform and templates by 6 July 2021. Non-confidential comments will be published on HSE's website. HSE has updated the Registry of Restriction Intentions to notify that it is preparing two restriction dossiers, following a request from Defra with the consent of the Scottish and Welsh governments. The dossiers will assess the risks of lead in ammunition; and of substances in tattoo inks and permanent make-up. HSE will propose restrictions if these dossiers show that restriction is the most appropriate measure for addressing the identified risks. The finalised dossiers, including any restriction proposals, will be published on HSE's website, expected to be in April 2022. Public consultations will then begin, during which interested parties will be able to submit comments on the restriction proposals. The Registry of Restriction Intentions is on HSE's website. |
