| Hi reader, Happy December! Between the lights, the family time, and all the year‑end reflection, this month is hectic - but it's also one of the best times of the year to think ahead and put future travel plans in motion, especially with all of the gift spending happening! Quick personal win before we dive in: I just booked a Caribbean trip for February that includes a cruise, flights, and a hotel stay—and I paid $0 out of pocket for all of it. I'd been saving up points and travel credits on a few different cards, and I used them all in tandem to get the different legs of my trip for free. It's a perfect example of why timing matters so much with this stuff. If you've been waiting for the right moment to get started or take the next step with your rewards strategy, this is it. The biggest mistake I see is waiting until you're ready to actually book a trip. By then, it's already too late. The key is opening your next best option now so the points are ready when you need them. December's Best Offers• Seasonal bonuses – There are several welcome offers bumped up right now that pair especially well with major airline and hotel partners. • Turn holiday spending into future trips – Earn rewards on everyday and travel purchases now, then redeem those rewards when travel season comes around to offset travel expenses.
• Bring‑a‑buddy travel perks – Several cards have this perk, and it's one of the most valuable benefits out there for couples or families.
A quick note on how this all works: because this space is pretty heavily regulated, I can't always share specific details about individual offers directly in emails—and things change fast anyway. The good news is I work with Travel Freely to keep you updated on best offers through my best offers page. (And you should absolutely have their app by now). It's been one of my favorite tools for staying organized and learning how to level up my strategy. When you use these links to sign up, it supports my work at no extra cost to you and gets you the same offers that you would get direct — so thank you. Xx, Kath |
