Announcing: Quality Improvement Coalition (QIC) Listening Sessions
As you may have heard, the Maine Office of Aging & Disability Services (OADS) is creating a new group called the Quality Improvement Coalition (QIC). A QIC is a group that helps improve the quality of services and supports paid for by the State. This group will look at both developmental services and long-term supports and services. It will create a way for people to share ideas and talk directly with the state on quality improvement priorities. It will also be an opportunity for people to communicate across different types of services and work together on solutions so everyone is receiving high quality services.
We will be hosting virtual listening sessions in January to hear your feedback as we plan this new group. At these sessions, OADS will share some information, and then we will talk together about what could make Maine's QIC work well.
A QIC can do many different things, like reviewing data from people's surveys on their experiences, reviewing State policies and potential changes, and sharing ideas and information. Your view and ideas will help shape Maine's QIC to focus on the right things, so please come and spread the word.
There will be two listening sessions:
Members & Families: Thursday, January 22nd, 4:30-5:30 PM Please join this session if you or your family member receives waiver services. You can sign up here: https://mainestate.zoom.us/meeting/register/vwcbFB1mTvKPxNTJ5HScPw
Providers & Community Members: Thursday, January 22nd, 11 AM-12 PM Please join this session if you are interested in QIC, and neither you nor your family member receive waiver services. You can sign up here: https://mainestate.zoom.us/meeting/register/YROjDmyGR6uFzoN3iShpaw
If you have questions, or if you need an accommodation or support to take part in one or more of these meetings, please contact April.Keyes@maine.gov. We look forward to hearing from you all and working together to improve services.
