Click here ![]() Saturday, 24 May 2025 WHA Highlights for Media Day 6 of the 78th World Health Assembly (24 May) The Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly (WHA78) continues at the Palais des Nations in Geneva today in Committee A, which will meet in the morning, from 09.00 to 12.00 CEST. The detailed programme of work can be found in the Daily Journal N°6, available in six languages of the United Nations (UN). The live webcast of the proceedings can be accessed here, simultaneous interpretation will be available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. Highlights of the day:
Committee A Under the agenda item on universal health coverage and primary health care, the Committee will discuss the approval of decisions related to the uptake and impact of norms and standards (EB156(14)), rare diseases (EB156(15)), health financing globally (EB156(16)), medical imaging capacity (EB156(17)). On communicable diseases, it will address decisions on accelerating the eradication of dracunculiasis (Guinea-worm disease) (EB156(23)) and on skin diseases as a global public health priority (EB156(24)), and will discuss the progress on the Global road map on defeating meningitis by 2030 (A78/4).
