Click here ![]() Tuesday, 20 May 2025 WHA Highlights Day 2 of the 78th World Health Assembly (20 May) The Seventy-eighth World Health Assembly (WHA78) continues at the Palais des Nations in Geneva today, and will meet in Plenary and Committee A, from 09.00 to 12.00 and 14.30 to 17.30 CEST. Committee on Credentials will meet at 14.00 CEST today. The detailed programme of work can be found in the Daily Journal N°2, available in six languages of the United Nations (UN). The live webcast of the proceedings can be accessed here, while a provisional list of speakers can be accessed here (agenda item 3). Simultaneous interpretation will be available in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. Highlights of the day:
Committee A will take up the discussions on the proposed programme budget 2026–2027 (A78/6, A78/6 Corr.1), including a draft resolution approving the programme of work and the budget for the period 2026-2027 as contained in document A78/6 Add.1. Under the agenda item on governance reform, it will consider the Secretariat implementation plan on reform (A78/4) and the process of handling and investigating potential allegations against WHO Directors-General (A78/5, A78/5 Add.1 and A78/39). The high-level pledging moment towards the Investment Round: Sustainable financing of WHO for impact in the new global health landscape, will convene Member States, donors, and key partners to raise funding as part of the WHO Investment Round to deliver on the Fourteenth General Programme of Work (GPW 14), strengthening its core mandate and capacity to drive global health outcomes in the new global health landscape.
