Hi everyone, I hope January has been good to you. I always find it to be a month of contrasts - easing back into healthy habits and routines while looking ahead to all the energy and busyness the year may bring. I'm certainly trying to balance staying grounded and, in the moment, whilst having a whirlwind month of work! | | One of the highlights has been launching The Wellness Scoop, my new podcast, with my fab co-host, renowned nutritionist, Rhiannon Lambert. I've been so moved by your messages, and hearing how deeply it's resonated. Over the past decade, I've watched the world of wellness become increasingly over-complicated, time-consuming, and veering towards extremes. | | | | On the topic of being on the go, we've been spending a lot of time at the DE factory, where things are moving at an incredible pace. Our team at the factory has grown threefold, to 64 people, since this time last year, and it's amazing to see how much progress we've made. Being on-site and watching our products come to life is always a reminder that in a world of UPFs, delicious food products can be made using only natural, nourishing ingredients - something that makes me incredibly proud! | | | | We're also gearing up for an exciting trip to the US with the kids. DE is now in Whole Foods Market across the country, and we've just launched into Lazy Acres in Southern California. I can't wait to see it all in person. Meanwhile, I've also started working on my next cookbook. It's early days, but I'm already putting a lot of thought into it. If there's something specific, you'd love to see - whether it's recipes, tips, or themes - please let me know. I'd love to hear your ideas! Finally, I wanted to share some of the things I've been loving this month - tools, resources, and rituals that have been helping me stay balanced: |
|
The Postcard by Anne Berest This gripping, poignant blend of memoir and fiction sees the author uncovering her ancestors' fate during the Holocaust and unearthing her family's origin story. A powerful exploration of memory and identity, it's both moving and unforgettable. | | | | 10-Minute Restorative Breathwork with Rebecca Moore Matt and I have been doing this most mornings, and it's amazing how much of a difference it makes to my mood - even when the kids are shouting, and we're rushing out the door to school! Using a simple 3-part breathing technique, it's incredibly calming and helps to lower stress. Highly recommend! | | | | Symprove Probiotics A daily staple for me and the family, Symprove is brilliant for gut health and immunity, especially during cold season. Backed by over 20 years of research, it's a simple, water-based shot that supports your gut microbiome. I've been taking it since 2015 and love how easy it is to incorporate into my routine. | | | | | | |
Dr. Chatterjee on The School of Greatness: "How to Escape the Prison of Your Mind & Reinvent Your Life in 2025" This episode really resonated with me. Dr. Chatterjee explains how reconnecting with intuition and addressing the stress behind unhealthy habits can lead to lasting change. A powerful reminder to focus on root causes, not just behaviours. | | | | Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt This book dives into how social media has reshaped childhood, with kids spending hours on platforms designed to exploit insecurities - a behaviour that carries into adulthood. Haidt's point about phones acting as digital pacifiers really struck a chord, especially as I'm trying to improve my own phone habits this year. It's a thought - provoking reminder to reconnect with real life. | | | | If there's anything wellness-related you'd like me to explore or share, please don't hesitate to reach out – I love a good recommendation! Best Wishes, Ella
