| State Extends Enrollment Deadline The state extended the deadline to enroll in Georgia's new state-based healthcare insurance marketplace, pushing the initial deadline from yesterday to Friday. The new marketplace, Georgia Access, replaces the federal Obamacare marketplace with the goal of providing Georgians with more tailored and accessible options. The newness of the program, along with lingering disruptions from Hurricane Helene, could keep some residents from meeting Monday's deadline, state leaders said. The Friday deadline is for those who want coverage to start Jan. 1. If enrolling after Friday, coverage begins Feb. 1. Georgia joins other states where residents are now reporting mysterious-looking drones flying overhead, weeks after similar reports in New Jersey and the Northeast began drawing attention. Authorities continue to field reports about drones but urge caution, saying no evidence exists of any public safety or national security risk.
