Dear friends, here are few more favorites to enjoy this holiday season and beyond. To quote Tiny Tim from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, "A Merry Christmas to us all and God bless us, everyone!" Stay safe and warm! With love and gratitude, - Kimberly |

The most popular Danish Christmas dessert, Risalamande is much more than just your typical rice pudding. Vanilla-infused whipped cream is folded into it, chopped almonds are added, and it is served with a delicious cherry sauce. It's elegant and fantastically delicious! And there's a fun Christmas tradition that accompanies it: The cook hides one whole almond in the rice pudding and whoever finds it in their serving wins a present. The catch: Everyone has to keep eating until the almond is found, no matter how full they are! |

Another favorite in our home for Christmas Eve dinner is German goulash served with Kartoffelklösse (potato dumplings), Semmelknödel (bread dumplings) or Spätzle, and Rotkohl (braised red cabbage). I provide recipes for all of these favorite traditional sides along with my recipe for authentic German goulash. So hearty and so flavorful, this meal epitomizes the very best of German comfort food! |
