Looking for a fun way to spend time with your kids? A cookie-baking day is a perfect way to build core memories and traditions. Some of my fondest childhood memories are Christmas baking with Mom and Liz (and trying not to get caught stealing chocolate chips or sprinkles when Mom wasn't lookingπ)
A few little tips for a successful cookie day:
Keep it Simple: Focus on recipes that don't require complex techniques or too many ingredients, like our sugar cookies, gingerbread, or chocolate chip.πͺ
Prep Ahead: Measure out ingredients, chill dough, or set up a decorating station. This reduces wait times and keeps the fun going! (I love the simplicity of this cookie-cutter set- you don't need a ton of tools!)
Set up a Creativity Station: Have a variety of sprinkles, icing, and toppings ready. Everyone loves decorating, so give them free rein to decorate however they like! (you probably won't produce Pinterest-worthy cookies, but they will have a blast!)π
Quality Control Patrol: Be sure to taste test as you go- you should be too stuffed to actually eat any baked cookies on cookie day!π
Gingerbread Cookies: Aren't they so cute lined up in a row? When I was young, we often decorated the "kids" Christmas tree with gingerbread cookies and it made the house smell amazing. This is the BEST recipe for soft, chewy gingerbread cookies!
