Article Icon 1Texas Interconnection to Connect to Southeast

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved a $360 million project to connect a Texas power grid, known as the Texas Interconnection, to the broader U.S. power grid via a 320-mile line.

The power line, dubbed “Southern Spirit,” will run across Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, connecting the now-isolated ERCOT grid to the southeastern U.S. and providing more stability in the event of natural disasters, such as Winter Storm Uri in 2021 that caused debilitating outages.

The project will also add around 9,000 new jobs.

Tap Into a $500B+ Glass of Water

Water purification is finally moving in the right direction: forward.

The old way of purifying water uses an energy-intensive process called reverse osmosis. Trevi pulls it out of the past with their patented forward osmosis system.

Capable of purifying the dirtiest water using only renewable energy, Trevi’s rewritten the equation for desalination. In fact, their tech needs a third of the electric energy as reverse osmosis. Even better, it can extract precious minerals like lithium. That means there are three enormous industries waiting:

  • Seawater desalination market estimated at $26.7B by 2028

  • Wastewater treatment market will be worth $193B by 2031

  • Mineral recovery market projected at $434B by 2028

Trevi’s already proving their technology’s worth with commercial deals to supply water for agriculture in Oman and Kuwait. Now, they’re opening an investment round as the company looks to scale from a $19M revenue pace this year to $258M by 2028.

Become a Trevi shareholder and seize your piece of the future of clean water.
