Here's today's Tip/Kitchen Hack: Garlic is an ingredient I can't do without in my kitchen! The flavour, texture and aroma it adds to dishes always mesmerises me! I mean how awesome does garlic frying in some butter smell - it's addictive!
It's safe to say garlic is without a doubt one of my favourites. But what I hate is the stinky smell it leaves on my fingers once I'm done chopping. Ew. Today I'm sharing a few tips that'll help you get rid of it - YAY!! - Use stainless steel like it's soap! You can use a knife, a stainless steel vessel or even a stainless steel sink. All you have to do is run your hands under warm or room-temperature water while rubbing your fingertips against the steel. Magically, the smell disappears. I swear this works, I was shocked too!
- Scrub your hands with leftover coffee grounds. If you thought there's no use for used coffee grounds, you're wrong. There are far too many uses for it and this is one of them. Scrub your hands with coffee grounds and a drop of soap. Rinse and the smell goes away!
- Use a lemon ring to scrub your finger tips along with soap. Or you could combine your soap with a few drops of lemon juice while washing. This isn't the most effective method, but it works fairly decently!
- Another easy hack is to use a bit of toothpaste or mouthwash as soap. This easily replaces the garlicky smell with a minty fresh one! 🥳🥳
