As part of the Family First Prevention Services initiative, the Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) is working to increase the number of services and supports for families in Maine that keep children safely in their home and prevent the need for entry into foster care, as well as working to raise awareness of existing resources that help families stay safe, stable, happy and healthy. In an effort to increase knowledge of the existing services and supports for families in Maine, OCFS worked closely with other state agency partners to develop a Family Services Resource Guide that will launch in mid-April. This online tool includes an inventory of state-level programs that will assist OCFS staff, service providers, and families in learning more about what programs exist in Maine. This tool will complement the existing 211 Maine program that includes an online directory of community-level resources for all individuals living in Maine. To review the new Family Services Resource Guide, as well as the 211 Maine program, and how they can be used to connect individuals and families with needed resources, we invite you to participate in the Locating Services and Supports for Families in Maine webinar scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 9 a.m. In order to participate and/or receive the webinar recording, please register here by Monday, April 11, 2022, at 5 p.m. A meeting invitation and link to the webinar will be sent to you the day prior to the scheduled webinar. Thank you for your interest and for partnering with us to help support families and keep all children in Maine safe.
