Hi There,
I don't know about you, but I'm seeing CBD everywhere right now. Gummies, drinks, tinctures, you name it.
And, it's with good reason, too. It's highly anti-inflammatory. Many people take it to ease mild pain, or encourage better mood or to support cognitive health. It's been a lifesaver for me - helping to support better sleep.
But, there's something you should know. Most CBD tinctures are overpriced and watered-down – it's hard to know what's actually in the bottle. You can easily end up overpaying for an ineffective mystery oil.
This is why I made my own for so many years. If you're buying CBD, there's a few things you want to look for.
Here's what makes a great CBD:
- Independent Lab Certification: A third-party lab should verify what's in the tincture.
- Small Batch: Removing as many middlemen as possible ensures the cost stays low while the quality remains high. The closer to the original source, the better.
- Healthy carrier oil: Great CBD only requires two ingredients: sun-grown, organic hemp and a quality carrier oil - I like coconut (MCT) oil or olive oil. Some manufacturers use heavily refined, pro-inflammatory seed oils (+ weird additives).
- Full Spectrum: A full-spectrum CBD product includes other naturally-occurring goodness from the original plant - things like terpenes, essential vitamins, fatty acids, protein, and more. These all work together to help CBD do its thing.
- Safe Extraction: CBD oil has to be extracted from the plant. Some companies use chemicals like butane or hexane. Gross. The safest and healthiest extraction method is cold-extraction using alcohol.
While you can always DIY it. I want to turn you onto
Tonico. It's made by a friend of mine, and they do one thing and they do it well:
Organic MCT oil + Full Spectrum CBD. I keep a bottle on my nightstand.
It's super high-quality and independently tested. They use a healthy carrier oil, and source their raw ingredients from local farms. It's also about half the cost of comparable CBD tinctures.
I worked with them to get you 10% off, so check
