We've pulled together resources, guidance and information to support you with pupils' wellbeing and education recovery, especially for those most impacted by the pandemic. This includes exams 2022 information, as we look forward to next summer. Adaptations in 2022 summer exams GCSE, AS and A level exams in England next summer will be adapted to maximise fairness and help students reach their potential. Confirmed changes include a choice of topics in some GCSE exams like English literature and history; advance information on the focus of exams to focus students' revision in subjects, where there is not a choice of topics; and support materials like formulae sheets in maths. The National Tutoring Programme (NTP) 2021/2022 The NTP has expanded its programme for the second year to offer primary and secondary schools three routes to tutoring: - All state-funded schools are eligible to apply for a Tuition Partner. If you choose to get support via this route, 70% of the cost will be subsidised.
- Schools based in one of the qualifying Local Authority Districts can apply to be matched with an Academic Mentor, 95% of the cost will be subsidised.
- Schools can now identify their own tutors to deliver School-Led Tutoring. 75% of the cost will be subsidised and the DfE will provide ring-fenced grant funding.

To hear about how the NTP has been implemented in a school, Principal David Benson shares his experiences on the DfE Teaching Blog. 16 to 19 Tuition Fund Schools with 16-19 provision may also be able to access the 16 to 19 Tuition Fund. This provides small group tuition for disadvantaged students aged 16-19 in English, maths and other subjects that have been disrupted, including vocational and/or academic learning. Mental health and wellbeing support New guidance on specialist services operating in schools We have published new school guidance to facilitate allowing therapists to work with pupils on-site. It aims to address any misconceptions around what should be delivered and to provide clarity in three broad areas: ensuring full access to provision; what safety precautions should be considered; and the importance of working with families and carers. E-Act conference 'Mental health in schools – where next?' On Thursday 7 October, E-Act are holding a free virtual conference. The focus will be on the many parts that make up a whole school wellbeing programme, offering practical advice on how schools can go about developing their own. The conference includes speakers from across academia and government sharing their insights and experiences. Full details can be found here. Information on the Recovery Premium The Recovery Premium is additional funding for this academic year. Building on the pupil premium, this funding will be used to deliver evidence-based approaches for supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils. National Professional Qualifications Teachers and leaders who want to develop their knowledge and skills in school leadership and specialist areas of teaching practice can access a reformed suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs) from November 2021. Additional school places for Nuffield Early Language Intervention (NELI) 2021/2022 NELI is a programme for children in Reception (4-5 years) which has been found to improve children's language and early literacy skills. By registering now, schools can access the online training in October, receive the resources to deliver the programme in November and start the programme with pupils in January 2022. Limited additional places are available with places allocated on a first come first served basis. EdTech Demonstrator Programme The programme is now in its second year, offering support to schools and colleges in developing digital strategies which make effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.
