Welcome to day 2 of 5 days of Japanese Cooking made Simple!

Ok so in day 1, I mentioned 6 essential Japanese condiments. Do you remember what they were?

Sugar may be the only ingredient you will have no trouble to find. Soy sauce might be the second easiest to have in your pantry because many supermarkets now seem to stock soy sauce regularly.

However, if you don't have any Japanese/Asian grocery stores nearby, it will be very difficult to find Sake, Mirin, Rice vinegar and Miso.

Don't despair! There are ways to overcome this hurdle. Find what you can use instead of Soy sauce, Sake, Mirin, and Rice Vinegar by clicking the link below and Read about Japanese Food Substitutions. I even grow Japanese herbs and vegetables in my Australian backyard and talk about how to grow them in the post 🀣
