The recently-published 2020 census reveals that Bulgaria's agricultural industry changed significantly during the first ten years of EU membership (since 2007) with clear trends toward commercialization and consolidation. Currently, there are 132,000 Bulgarian farms, of which the average size has tripled over the last ten years to 33 hectares (HA) per farm. About nine percent of the farms account for 85 percent of the utilized agricultural land (UAL). The notification authorizes the unrestricted import of consignments with bills of lading issued on or before October 31, 2021 and cleared by Indian Customs before November 30, 2021. The measure removes quantitative import volume restrictions on these commodities.
